Dear John,
I promised to let you know how our arrival went.
The container got into port right on time. The agent I picked pre cleared our goods through Customs even before it was unloaded. The only snag came when the other security department in Customs decided they wanted to inspect our container. It ended up taking a few days more. They both x-rayed it and opened it up. So far as we can tell, they didn't unload or open anything inside. That cost us something like $150 or $200 for inspection fees. Even with the delay, we could have taken delivery less than a week after the goods arrived but chose to delay it a few days. We managed to arrange a Saturday delivery and we had more than enough help to get the container unloaded……We were done in an hour and a half. We even unloaded the piano without any special equipment as my cousin insisted that he and his wife took a piano upstairs into an apartment with just the two of them, and he promised that she would be there to help us! I was absolutely amazed at the condition of our belongings. The only breakage we had was three water goblets which I broke when I pulled something off the top of the load and knocked a box labelled "fragile" 8 feet to the floor. Damage from things rubbing was minimal--much better than when the professionals packed us for our move from Canada to the UK.

Dear John
Just to let you know that our container arrived at its destination yesterday! It actually docked at Heraklion in the early hours of last Sunday, but with the bureaucracy over here it wasn't delivered to us until nearly a week later!
We would just like to thank you for all your assistance and advice and to let you know we will not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone who wants to do the same sort of thing!
Also - to let you know - it's about 22 degrees over here during the day!
